Terraforming Mars - right or wrong?

I saw a piece of news today which relates to this thread.

NASA's Maven Mars probe just took off.

Maven is going to study Mars' high atmosphere, to try to understand the processes that have robbed the world of most of its air.

If we can understand better the processes which strip Mars of its atmosphere, and the rate at which this happens, this will make it easier to assess the practicality of terraforming the planet.

Just wanted to say - I think starting the new forum section just for threads with polls is a good idea. Well done. I have always quite liked polls - I think they help sharpen a discussion.

There are a whole heap of active "Mars colonisation" proposals at the moment. It is hard to tell which ones (if any) are the serious ones, but some of them seem to be getting a lot of press interest.

So where are all these new polls?
